About Opus One Winery
The joint venture between Mondavi and Rothschild was announced in 1979 and produced their first vintage the same year. Opus One — the name means “first work” in Latin — is a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant Bordeaux blend made from estate fruit grown on the Oakville property. Only one wine is produced. It has been ranked among the world’s greatest wines for over four decades.
